You’ve tested the waters and it feels perfect for you. Being in a relationship is trusting with all you have. It’s finally finding happiness in being who you are because it’s been silently agreed that you two accept each other for all the faults and blemishes and layers on mental onion that exist. It’s laughing and not caring if you let out a snort. It’s like finding gold at the end of a rainbow that only exists because of the tears that have fallen in the past. It’s more than sex and touch and going on dates. It’s receiving more love than you have ever given another soul. It’s calling each other nicknames that don’t make sense or simply, boyfriend and girlfriend. It’s knowing that even through the happiness, there will be clouds that eventually darken the sky; storms so violent it uproots trees of anger and floods streets with disappointment. But being in a relationship is also having the knowledge that no matter how dramatic the storm, you two will always live to see the sun part the clouds. There will always be light.
